A little girl hugs the world

she hopes the warmth in her heart will make it feel a little better

There are so many challenges facing the world each day
so many ideas about the way things should be that people believe and say
perhaps a brush of the cheek and a caring embrace will at least let the spinning globe momentarily pause

She knows not everyone gets along
and everyone can’t
but she wants the world to know that as humans
in the vastness of infinite planets and stars
we could be a little more humble in understanding that answers are a little more complicated than what a group of people think in Podunk towns and metropolis zones
that conflict can be more civil than the thirst that tears mankind down

It is true
a little kindness goes a long way
some may accept it
some may not

Simple humility from a child
nothing more
can at least allow us to consider the renewing of the mind
not being conformed to one idea in which the world may wind
but instead find what is good, acceptable, and perfect
by the will of God that binds
