Hello Dear Readers!
I know I may not have many yet, but for those that are curious as to my whereabouts since my last posted poem on Substack in November, I’ve been just as busy writing and producing as I ever have!
If you are following me on socials, you’ve seen that I am still posting poetry there as well as in Substack Notes. I consider my premier work to be the poems I put together with visual elements and voiceover (and sometimes other audio) and like to use Substack as a place for people to be able to read along to the poems with full text in an artistic format. I have started incorporating captions in videos for those that may find it helpful, but compared to a formatted poem there can be so much power lost.
The reason you haven’t seen poetry on my newsletter as of late is because I produce poetry in sets. They are far too much effort to put into one-offs, though if my readership ever elevates beyond imagination what is produced and how often can always be revaluated in the future.
I have not had one of these in-between periods before where I am working on prepping a new set of writings after the prior ones have been published. I had hoped I would be able to finish the new set before then, but various circumstances, including the sudden loss of my job in November, have both opened up time as well as left me spending inordinate amounts of it scrambling to find a new occupation, an effort which is still ongoing.
I am considering moving forward that I will publish the one-off poems that aren’t part of my numbered sets as part of my newsletter as well. That may give a better appearance of my profile being active and open for interaction as opposed to posts that quickly disappear in a feed.
When is my new set of poetry out, you may ask? Finishing touches are being worked on, but as of right now a starting date of February 3rd, 2024 is in view. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing from you on Substack or on socials. To a new year, and to new messages of faith, beauty, and hope.
