A woman on her way up
on her way out
looking back at the road she desperately paced
happy to leave the things she doesn’t want to remember intentionally behind
She’s not proud of the walk she walked
sultry and used
but she’s now walking towards a new door
knocking
gladly welcoming her in
pride and modesty are returning to her with each day
facing the lit end of this dirty polluted tunnel of the past
where others wrote her destiny against the scars of her once meandering spirit
Stepping away
there’s traffic
no one will get in her way
she’s got a new job
a career that will let her beauty exist
without it being used as a grift
The groundwork is laid
strong as girders
heavy and made of steel
coming back to where the spirit strives to make it
where she can take a moment to know what she has
and live in goodwill
