Poem #307 • Dawn seems to extend into infinite reflections
Inside a bright cavern
dawn seems to extend into infinite reflections
Deep roots have taken hold in this hollow underground
an estimable garden with such greenery that butterflies have made their home within
This is the escape I enjoy
trickling water, bustling birdsong, flittering wings
here I feel like royalty in a dress and long hair adorned in a crown of leaves
Such nature may not give me counsel, but it does bring me rest
seeing the flocking of butterflies to me like a mother’s nest

There's something comforting about the way this poem portrays nature as a place of rest rather than a source of answers. That idea resonated with me.
The imagery of the hidden garden beneath the earth felt peaceful and vivid. I could almost picture the butterflies filling the cavern with life.
