From the time she was a scant tot
no more than a couple feet high
she’s made due amongst gobbling chickens and farm hands
learning the trade by the time she was 10
exceedingly excellent in everything learned
she began to realize that there was so much more her feisty family could earn

Making a system to organize and distribute
her hardy parents were impressed
they hadn’t seen so much business in their lifetime yet!

With a broad smile and straw-hat
jeans and flannel
you might never guess she was the chief of this exceptional egg operation

Inspecting each crate while poultry eagerly watches
she takes a look at her clipboard and promptly notices
the eggs are in season!

It’s time to rejoice and get extra busy
She’s fed her family and indeed many more
taking pride in what she has been blessed to do
since the happy day she was born
