A child is coming into our small article of this world
the document has been written
the signature signed
jointly by the stroke of myself and this wonderful wife of mine

A woman beyond measure
none can compare
reverent and good
she is as excited as I am about building a home in life’s wood

Clearing away the chaff, stone, and trees
the core of this pillar protected by us, friends, and family

Feeling her belly
taking in her eyes
kissing her lips
I can feel the confidence in her words, breath, and hips

I will love this woman until the day I die and beyond
treating each member of this beautiful family with deliberate care
letting them know there is nothing on this blessed earth to which I am further fond
