The baker’s delight
she makes us all proud
from our hearts to our stomachs
I’m surprised the gluten doesn’t make us growl

Sumptuous breads
rich cakes
fruity muffins
bagels of all sorts
crafty cookies
salty crackers
crunchy croutons
soft pastries
flavorful pies
and everything else

flour is always in her hands
in a concerto of a flurry
from the air
to her skillful hands
to the baking sheets
to the oven
food is fun and makes us all happy
most of all it brought us to the table
and made her and I sappy
