What’s the limit of your imagination?
Of pressing your neurons to fire into things dreamed or unknown?
Do you pursue the call of vision to make it your own?
To claim everything that you can be
to see how far you can fling yourself into abstract reality?

Take for instance
a subway ride in space
waving to an astronaut as sights so few have seen up close
bring to the eyes something that nearly all could only capture in prose

A young woman dressed in all black
mesmerized by the light of the sun reflecting off the ocean and onto her face and neck
swearing she can see her reflection in the water lightyears below
wondering if heaven may not be much further away
wondering what it might be like to stay

Consider the inverse my friends
you may think a subway in space is too far out
what about being that astronaut we talked about?

Floating in a sea of stars
performing a dance where gravity has no place
executing a precision trade where all your knowledge cannot capture the vastness of the space where light ends and sleeping dark does not fade

Sometimes reality is greater than fiction
putting the pen of life to your heart
can merge both in a wonderful act of diction
