Poem #300 • Is there such a thing as righteousness in war?
Oh knight
in heavy plating
what do you see
along the way to the Holy Land
watching comrades die
as their bones stack like grains of sand
Fighting Religious
righteousness in war
is there such a thing without God’s decree
even then
it's not the intent of the design He bore
The horrific imperfections you aim to iron away as you grind through years
meeting the walls of bloodshed at gates in arid earth
If all people are to be blessed through the patriarch of Abraham
then you must see the difference between light and pogrom
