Will you marry me?
A question asked infinite inestimable times
but our way was quite special
how many couples courageously traverse a frozen peak in fresh snow
dressing in blue and white to match the ice cap show

Each bead of light reflecting on the powdered surface of the earth
made the ring I presented to you shimmer as an expression of all that you are worth
to me
to our future
to faith and family

It was terribly cold
I was in jeans
you were in a ruffled skirt
we kissed and laughed in a perfect moment then ran to change
I almost lost my heavy clothing in our hasty romantic exchange

Oh but the immense view
we looked
and we stared
knowing that together perhaps no mountain range
ice capped or fertile and green
could keep us from conquering limitless scenes
