the heart reflecting in her smile humbles me to stand for her and take an oath on my knees

Reading what is on our consciouses when we hold one another close
we can watch the world fade and feel our darkest nights turn to day

lift each other up in loud and soft-spoken esteem
the comfort of our hands wrapped in each other’s keeps us teeming with a dream
