Ploughing away
how long has she been at it?
Too dang long I must say
yet there she is against it all
out in the field with family and cattle in tow
grass
water
mud and cud
making another season fruitfully come and go

She’s not expired
nowhere near retired
though she deserves it so
The world spins
to her life she’s plugged in
sun and heat don’t get her down
suiting up from head to toe in homemade work gown

Make a path for this age old woman
young as can be
An example to her family
thankful for a hard-working woman of this degree
