Rocking me awake
the sound of her purple voice
royalty imbued
locks me up with some sort of rock etude
perfect
precise
smooth as a winning roll of dice
I could gamble a winning bet
that the smoke from her playing will turn to fire yet

And just as I begin to settle in
heating up the stage once again
marvelous leaning in with each stroke and call of her song
it takes no time to guess that she’s honed her craft over years all along
