Do you remember the day we got married?
It may seem like a silly question
I just love to reminisce on that day with fond affection
the smiles were brimming so much on our faces our cheeks hurt more than anything else!
I think by the end of the day attendees could tell who was family by whose faces were stuck!
We held hands and danced with all our family and friends looking on
I probably danced for the first time without a care in the world or who could see that I had two flat feet
You smiled at my clumsiness and said you found it charming
Nothing can hold a woman back from a man who trips over himself for her!
I may have been gallant, but you my love, were exquisite.
So much so that I couldn’t help but take you in my arm and bend you back to kiss you while you still had the bouquet in your hand!
The guests didn’t need any good fortune. We’d take it all!
I was stealing you away with the good luck bouquet!
“I’m running off with the bride!”
That’s at least what I’d like to say with your big smile and hair frizzing in the wind as I hoisted you over you my shoulder. But, even being a hulk of a man, I can get tuckered out, especially when everyone has been celebrating and sharing the love all day.
Now we’ve got power rings that lasted much longer than a luck bouquet. We’ve made the commitment and carry the symbol of that on our fingers and in the recesses of our hearts each day.
