Riding For Our Destiny
Grant Hope #229
Riding to destiny
since the days of our youth
hopping on a bike to escape city streets
highways with tollbooths
out to a place where the world felt like it belonged only to us
a place of green that gave us no fuss
A ticket to ride
that’s what we were
we still haven’t stopped since the day I met her
the look in our eyes is the same as it was
we stood for the same things
revved our engines
spread our wings
Here we stand
with the memories we’ve made
the ones on which we will embark
in this little world that feels like it’s ours alone
holding each other with all the energy that kept us moving
kept our love green
so we could reach the moments to stay still

This poem really resonated with me. I love how it captures the feeling of growing together through the years while still holding onto the same spark that brought two people together in the first place. The imagery of riding toward destiny and finding freedom on the open road feels both nostalgic and hopeful. My favorite part is the idea that after all the miles, adventures, and memories, love becomes the place where you can finally be still. Beautiful and heartfelt.
