Rolling Until Heavenbound
Poem #308 • We can climb each great peak and walk each easy valley
Ahead of rolling rock of grassy green and soft rough sand
from misty clouds to humpback clearings
her toes sink into the reddish brown moss caressing stone
Covered in decadent white flowers
translucent ebony
shin to chest below a bronze sky and the haze of where a halter once hung
The features of her face hidden by straw
playing with her hair
asking me to take her all in
for both of us to enjoy the glory of our joyful meekness in the still air whispering in revolving rounds.
This journey of this wondrous woman, me, the mountains
as far as the eye can see
has let us get away to be closer in boundless devotion, joy, and pleasure alike
Swinging her gaze into the impenetrable heavens above
I’m glad that as the flowers fall down her back
hair flowing in the wind
that God saw fit to give us each other in our small piece of time
We can climb each great peak and walk each easy valley
with our eyes ahead and our hands and hearts bound
