A romantic rowboat ride I delightfully surveyed
from a peephole along a parkway bridge
a postcard if I ever saw
a couple paddling in and out of soft sun and shade
surrounded by such dense green
the city towering ahead must seem so far beyond
A little piece of something old
amidst something new
a little reverie
away from metal skylines
and routines that keep us tied
come closeups of brush
the sound of waters gentle rush
Smiles accompany time away
where life welcomes time for life
a couple paddles into the next chapter of their story
beyond the peephole along a parkway bridge
