Stretching to Blue Horizon
Poem #297 • Releasing tension into the wet sand
Holding head on the ground
slowly pulling legs high
standing on elbows
surrounded by air without walls
as the ocean stretches on to blue horizon
a scene of those riding surf ahead
while the sun shines in this moment on the shore
Stretching in a fetal position
flexion of the back
releasing tension into the wet sand of the coast
Breathing slows as motions of the water retreat
knees to chest
below full open sky
waves rolling into walls of foam before their final stretch towards the sand
