Once, at the top of the world
there was a gymnast who lived the love of her craft
her heart was so full
it seemed the world spun on an axis that she could straddle with ease
sticking a leg in the sky to show the balance she achieved
her heart beat so loudly in this season of life
that you could see it sparkle from her head to her toes
As all things go
all things must stop
there was a time she slipped
regained her composure
but she could see her cirque du soleil was approaching the state of being over
so she posed in sync with earth’s rotation one final time
Elegant in goodwill
the sendoff to her life’s work that she was so fond of still
instead of syncing in motionless
she put movement behind her motion
echoing her performance so that it could be heard in ripples across the ocean
