This is a fun piece! Much of what I read is pretty dark, so this was a nice change.

Thank you! This was a light-hearted one for sure. Sometimes its nice to think of friends, good times, and making a mess.

I love the internal rhymes on this one. One comment on presentation: back off the mic! :) You need to mix your volume down just a little and allow the depth of your voice to carry.

Hey Jordan! Thanks for the compliment and constructive feedback! This one was recorded awhile ago. It may sound like a bit of a cop-out, but the mic I use (an RE-20) actually sounds pretty muddy in the mid low-end with my voice. It's also a dynamic microphone, so the further off the mic you back off the more your voice will get cut. That's also the advantage of a dynamic mic. It helps reduce room noise. Perhaps the EQ is running a little hot in the highs. A general rule of thumb for vocal recording is to be about 6 inches from a microphone to help keep the source audio focused around the talent and not room tone, but I could use a pop filter. At this time I have a wind screen, though the RE20 does claim to have a built in filter.

I do have some background in audio production but don't claim to be perfect in this either. My relative audio level was based around coming in a bit under commercial music tracks and comparing it to speaking levels among several youtube videos while not playing to the noise floor of my audio interface. It essentially landed my gain right in the middle which I found satisfactory as a lot of audio is pushed to the point of artifacting or losing any dynamics.

Maybe some sort of whisper track in the background to help balance it out? I don't mean literal whispers (although with the right poem that could work) just some atmospherics to help the listener set their levels. You have the makings of a Narrator voice so I wouldnt be surprised to hear you do that as a side gig as well.

Regardless, I am enjoying your series. There aren't enough places and ways to share poetry.
